I sold my digital camera last year and replaced it with a Leica M6. Some thoughts after fifteen rolls.

The short version: I was taking too many photos and looking at almost none of them. The constraint of thirty-six frames per roll turned out to be the thing I needed.

Fifteen rolls in, I'm shooting more carefully and enjoying it more. The M6 is manual everything — focus, exposure, winding — which sounds annoying but turns out to be meditative. You have to be present to use it. That was the point.

The results are not technically better. They are, I think, more mine.
